You may legally use publicly available Internet images in your assignments as long as they are only shared with your teachers, peers, parents or posted on a restricted access web site. 


To give respect to the owners of these images, you are required to cite the source of the images that you use.

Creative Commons Image Search - provides access to images housed at Flicker, Fotopedia, and other resources.  Also able to search for items.


Pics 4 Learning - provides subject access to more than 28,000 copyright friendly images donated by photographers.


Imagebase - is a free database of professional photography


PD Photo - is a repository of mainly public domain pictures.


National Gallery of Art - over 25,000 free downloadable and re-usable images of art.

The British Library - over a million images in Flickr Commons for anyone to use, remix and repurpose. These images are taken from books dating back to the 17th, 18th, and 19th century.
